Full Bloom

Yesterday, I went for a Labyrinth Fall Equinox walk in the morning at the Blue Sky Ranch. Later in the evening I went to the Full Bloom event held by The Rope Collective.

The art of the rope is so beautiful. I learned that Kinbaku, the art of binding, began in Japan by sex workers in the late Edo period. Shibari was the word that came into play to describe the art when it arrived in the Western world in the 90s.

I love the community of consent and respect. It’s a safe space that is sadly demonized and misrepresented in mainstream media. It is a space full of darkness, beauty, and authenticity where there is no judgment.

Suffering smiles at me, and so I suffer with a smile. It’s such a beautiful distraction from the gloom I feel casting it’s shadow on me. I recently dreamt of eating broken glass. In another dream I ran into a super villain looking at itself in the mirror then turning to greet me. Maybe I need to make friends with the darkness.

Anyways, I am looking forward to the Domination of the Damned event coming up next month. I am also looking forward to Blue Sky Ranch’s Lotus workshop where I can focus on meditation, mysticism, and magic. I’ll have to wait until March for that one since I have conflicts in may calendar, which fills up pretty fast. I feel thankful for these communities!
