I dreamt my nephew, who is a toddler, skipped out on school to participate in a dance competition. I turned into his mother and followed him into the dance studio where I saw him and many people dancing freestyle. Everyone left and I was the only one in the room. As I headed out the door, two pirates entered and threatened to rob me. I struggled and took away their pistols. One pistol shot blanks and the other was a lighter. I ended up stuffing them both up one of their mouths as I ran out the door. Outside the door I ran into a doctor who said his name was Nadula from Derby and he was looking for a flower to find a cure.
Dreaming of the toddler dancing represents the inner child longing to be nurtured in the rhythm of life. Freestyle signifies freedom from constraints and restrictions. The competition may represent some longing for approval. Turning into another child’s mother may represent a new way of seeing myself or redefining myself. The part of the dream where I am left behind and robbed by pirates may reflect my feelings of loneliness and loss of happiness or control. The pistols represent anger as I try to regain control again. The fact that one shot blank and the other was just a lighter may mean I need to take another approach to whatever I may be confronting, it may also represent a feeling of impotency. The lighter is a symbol of hope. Stuffing the pirate’s mouth with the pistols can represent a block of communication driven from my desire to mute what’s happening to me. The doctor represents a healer. The flower which is the cure signifies spirituality and acceptance, which is being searched for. I looked up what the name Nadula, and according to numerology analysis, it is the connection between matter and spirit. Derby is a noun that is defined by anything broken down or destroyed.
