Greetings, fellow keyboard crusaders! The past few weeks have been an intense grind as I tackled a mountain of tasks. It seems I’ve broken my promise to slow down this year as I dedicated countless hours at the Cyber Club gym, preparing for the Socal Cyber Cup Challenges hosted by Cyberskyline. In a nod to the end of our time together in this cyber club, we changed our name from Slackers to Ctrl+Alt_De1337. Unfortunately, two of my teammates are moving to Vegas due to rent hikes, signaling the end of the Cyber Club as I know it. This is bittersweet, but at least we finished strong, winning first place in the finals for colleges!
It’s disappointing that there’s no prize money this year due to funding issues, but our coach is treating us to a BBQ, which is a nice consolation.
I’ve been so busy that I’m now five poems behind for April’s National Poetry Month. Once I clear this literary side quest, it’s time to hit the recharge button. My youngest son has been quite busy too, finishing up his general education before attending UCSD this fall. He will actually be graduating from community college before he graduates high school. I’m so proud!
