Winter Break Road Tripper

So we are road tripping right now and just stopped by the Salton Sea. It was smelly enough to invoke puking sounds as I sunk my shoes deep into disgusting smelling sand,, and for a moment panicked by the unstable ground beneath me quickening like quicksand. My shoes are covered with grime and stink, but the sea was beautiful and the lights peaking out from the cracks in the clouds made it ever so worth the stink.

I am grateful right now, as I should always be. Travel is a grace with the presence of great thankfulness. While we live in a culture where we stress too much on what we have not achieved or all things we don’t have, I am, for now, on the other side not wanting to look back, or maybe I’ll turn into salt and disappear. No, I wouldn’t want to do that.

I can’t waste too much more precious time on anxiety. I know the fast and furious world we live in will call me back, but today is not the day. Frustrations and fears must disappear because I’m road tripping right now, and I’m only making time for Winter.

Happy Solstice, Merry Yule and Christmas,, on old long syne.
