We have treated each other so unkindly for so long.
Racism, discrimination, greed, pollution, and whatever else lies in the dark side of human nature, have stirred a nasty broth of toil and trouble,
And the vultures in Wall Street gather swarming a corpse bleeding out money
So fast they can’t print enough.
They say the infection came from bat to human.
As now we know the monster is real, but smaller than we have ever imagined.
Contagion looms and spreads while nine people from Miami beach tested positive for the virus, disobeying orders to stay home,
While hospital supplies run low to out.
Spring break was not worth that.
Preachers, nowadays are preaching hard if they can get heard.
As many churches go dark, not knowing how to navigate the digital world.
Many are learning now.
Many are lonely.
For those who are alone, we all need to reach out,
But everyone is afraid, even the ones who believe it’s a hoax.
Fear has most of us hiding in our homes,
While some guards let out the prisoners,
Some with nowhere to go.
There are lessons buried here,
Hopefully not with us.
The rate of viral duplication has reminded us all
We are connected from micro to macro.
We need to start from our soul and bodies,
And remember to breathe.
Remember to love.
